How it works
Each file is loaded as a local object URL into an Image element, which is how
the browser reads the actual pixel dimensions from the file's own header, not from the
filename or any guess. Aspect ratio is simplified by dividing both dimensions by their
greatest common divisor (found with the Euclidean algorithm), and file size and format
come straight from the file object your browser already has.
No image data is sent anywhere. Everything happens locally, and the object URLs are released as soon as their dimensions are read.
Common questions
Can I check multiple images at once?
Yes, select or drop in several files and each one gets its own row in the results table, so you can compare dimensions across a batch at a glance.
What's the aspect ratio shown as?
As a simplified ratio (like 16:9 or 4:3) found by dividing both dimensions by their greatest common divisor, alongside the raw decimal ratio for exact comparisons.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read locally and decoded by your browser's own image engine. Nothing is uploaded.
