Privacy Policy
Short version: norito's tools run entirely in your browser. We don't have a server that receives your files, and we don't ask you to create an account. This page explains exactly what that means and where the few exceptions are.
How the tools work
Every tool on this site, image compression, background removal, the file generators, the formatters, runs as JavaScript in your browser tab. When you drop in an image or type text, that data is processed on your device and never leaves it. There's no upload step, because there's no server on the other end waiting for your file.
What we don't collect
We don't collect the files or text you put into any tool. We don't require sign-up, so we don't have your name, email, or any account data.
Local storage (not the same as cookies)
A few tools remember your last-used settings, like your preferred output format or whether resizing is enabled, using your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and you can clear it any time from your browser settings.
Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)
This site uses Microsoft Clarity, a free analytics tool, to understand how visitors use the site, page views, clicks, and general navigation patterns, so we can find and fix usability problems. Clarity automatically masks sensitive information like form input and has no access to anything you process inside a tool, since that never leaves your browser. It sets cookies to do this; see Microsoft's Privacy Statement for details.
Google AdSense
This site shows ads through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or generally at aboutads.info. If you're in the EU/UK, Google may show you a consent prompt before ads are personalized.
Google Fonts
This site loads two typefaces (Inter and Poppins) from Google Fonts. Loading a font from Google's servers sends your browser's IP address and user-agent to Google, the same way any request to any external server would. Google's font delivery doesn't use this to build ad profiles, but it's still a request to a third party worth disclosing.
Hosting logs
This site is hosted on Netlify, which, like any web host, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance purposes. We don't have access to anything beyond aggregate, anonymized traffic reports.
Children's privacy
norito isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age, since none of the tools require sign-up or file upload in the first place.
Changes to this policy
If anything material changes, most likely if a new tool needs a server-side component, we'll update this page and the date below.
